Every Houston Texans fan remembers former Texan Chester Pitts.  From the lows to the highs, Pitts was a true franchise player, putting himself on the line every down from the Texans' inaguaral season to his season-ending knee injury last year.  And although he's currently a free agent, we here at TexansGab want to keep you updated on his recovery progress and his free agency outlook.

Andrew Kessler, Pitts' agent, reported last Thursday that his client Brian Cushing  will be ready for workouts coming up this week.  Today, Jason LaCanfora reported via his Twitter that Pitts will be ready for 2010 and working out for teams this Tuesday.  Pitts has been recovering from microfracture surgery so his workouts may be limited.   Earlier this offseason, Pitts told Sirius NFL Radio that five teams that have shown interest in him this offseason: the Lions, the 49ers, the Seahawks, the Eagles and the Vikings.

Pitts, a longtime starter for the Houston Texans, is one of the Andre Johnson  few in-demand free agents still available. He started every game for the Texans from his rookie season in 2002 through 2008. Pitts played in just two games last season before undergoing the surgery.

Kessler refused to comment on the teams who will attend to scout Pitts, saying they have asked him not to release their identities. However, Pitts has drawn interest from several teams throughout the offseason, including the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles.
