Girls’ Night Out is an award

Girls’ Night Out is an award-winning promotion hosted by wholesale Oakland Athletics Hats the Port Townsend Main Street Program Promotion Committee. It is sponsored by participating businesses, the Main Street Program and Jefferson Healthcare Home, Health and Hospice.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and the event includes the opportunity to purchase a goody bag or cowgirl hat filled with treats, beauty products and gifts donated by the merchants; proceeds help underwrite breast and cervical cancer screenings for local women in need, and support the Port Townsend Main Street Program. Bags sell for $10, cowgirl hats for $25, and deluxe cowgirl hats are $50. discount Oakland Athletics HatsContents for the goody bags are donated by participating businesses, Port Townsend Main Street Program and the Jefferson County Health Department.

Twenty-three participating businesses on Water Street and the Fountain District are offering special events, in-store promotions and refreshments. The evening wraps up with a “round-up” party at 8 p.m. at the Upstage, 923 Water St., which features a cowgirl band, appetizers, desserts and door prizes. There is a suggested $5 donation at the door.

This year is cowgirl-themed – Cheap Philadelphia Phillies Hats“Kick Up Your Heels” – so bring friends and wear Western gear.

Mosey on over to downtown Port Townsend for a day and night of female camaraderie and shopping fun at Port Townsend Main Street’s Girls’ Night Out from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Sheet Metal Workers Local 46 of Rochester

“Supernatural means fairies, dragons and ghosts,” Claire, 9, said.

Claire Watkins’s word was “supernatural.” She got the idea for the word from reading "Harry Potter" with her father.

Riley Eagle’s hat stood for “accolade” with words such as “praise” dangling from it. Riley, 9, said she planned to use her new word next time she wanted to compliment someone.

“I kinda liked how they all thought my hat looked cool,” Cheap Chicago White Sox HatsHolden said.

Holden enjoyed the parade the most of all the events.

“My mom read the word to me, and I liked it,” Holden said. He's also interested in helicopters.

Fourth-grader Holden Larson, 10, wore a hat with moving propellers and pictures of helicopters. The hat represented the word “propel.”

The students had been working on the assignments with the words they chose for two weeks. Many of the new words came from wholesale Chicago White Sox Hatsin-class readings.

Daniels, 73, has been active as a signer, guitarist and fiddler since the early 1950s. He is perhaps best known for the song “Devil Went Down to Georgia.” He was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in early 2008

Veterans Advocate hats signed by Charlie Daniels, Kevin Costner and Willie Nelson will be the runner up-prizes.
